A Lifetime of Bedside Excellence
My career began with a deep-seated desire to serve others, starting at the very foundation of patient care. I have held essential roles across the care continuum, including Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician (PCT), and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Beginning my career as a CNA gave me a deep appreciation for the daily, hands-on needs of patients and families and shaped how I approach care today. It taught me that the smallest, most consistent acts of care are what truly allow individuals to remain safe, supported, and able to thrive at home.
Driven to improve the quality of care on a larger scale, I advanced through every level of nursing, including Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (ADN and BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Today, I am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Candidate, currently in my project implementation phase, where I focus on applying evidence-based practice to improve safety, quality, and outcomes in healthcare settings.
As my clinical experience and education progressed, I became increasingly aware that exceptional home care requires more than compassion alone. Strong leadership, clinical oversight, and clear standards are essential to ensuring both patient safety and caregiver confidence. These experiences shaped what I now refer to as the Quality First Way—a care philosophy grounded in accountability, consistency, and respect for both patients and caregivers.
In 2014, I founded Quality First Care, LLC, in Michigan to bring The Quality First Way to life. My goal was to lead home care with the compassion I learned at the bedside and the structure and accountability families deserve—creating an organization rooted in professionalism, trust, and patient-centered care. As my nursing education and clinical leadership advanced over time, that vision grew into an even stronger commitment to safety, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care.
Today, Quality First Care operates as a multi-state provider, serving families as a Licensed Private Home Care Provider (PHCP) in Georgia and as an enrolled Michigan Home Help provider, offering both Medicaid Home Help and private-pay home care services.
My doctoral quality improvement work focuses on safeguarding needlestick injury prevention, reflecting my commitment to workforce safety and patient protection. This project holds QI Exempt status from a nationally recognized hospital system known for clinical excellence.
Having served in every role from CNA to DNP candidate, I lead with insight, empathy, and accountability. This experience ensures that every member of the Quality First Care team delivers care that is clinically safe, professionally guided, and deeply compassionate.
